Yes, I said it. But I only said it to get your attention. And I am sure it worked, especially for the folks that I refer to as "Pac-Men" — Pacquiao’s legion of die-hard fans. I have been on a few boxing forums, and have seen how some of them have verbally attacked anyone who has even hinted at a Pacquiao loss in the ring.
But do not get it twisted, I actually think that Manny Pacquiao will defeat Antonio Margarito when the two meet next month. However, I do think that Margarito has a fighting chance.
The reasons are limited but simply can not be ignored.
Antonio Margarito is the bigger man. He’s taller, has a bigger frame, and walks around weighing dozens of pounds more than Pacquiao when he’s not in the ring. Size does matter.
The Shane Mosley thrashing aside, Margarito probably has the better chin. That was the only time that he’d been stopped in his career. Manny Pacquiao, on the other hand, has been stopped twice by two unknowns early in his career. He’s also been rocked several times in his wars with Juan Manuel Marquez.
Desperation often leads to celebration. One man (Margarito) is more desperate than Steve Carell in one of my favorite flics of all-time. Pacquiao, while still hungry, has a hard time convincing me that he’s 100% focused on boxing when he’s now immersed in Filipino politics. Oftentimes, the fighter with one foot out of the ring, often ends up taking a nap inside of it.
I would probably not lay a wager on Antonio Margarito when he faces Manny Pacquiao on November 13. But I damn sure would take a very close look at the odds as the fight fast-approaches.

without a doubt Pac Man ranks right up there as one of my favorite fighters right now but the fact is Pac Man will lose this fight. as you eluded to antomio has a terriffic chin, size and come and get style necessary to cause problems for tbh Pac Man. it should be very interesting to say the least to see him face a true welterweight this could be the fight that sends Manny into full time politics. We shall see.

@jabbo I actually not NOT think Pac will lose…too fast and too skilled. Margarito looked like trash in his last fight, has done nothing to warrant this shot (save for working for Bob Arum’s promotional outfit), and is a question mark since his hand-wrap foibles. I just stated his cases for a win, but speed kills, and Pacquiao will out-speed him, perhaps to a late stoppage on swelling/cuts.

and i understand your position and as i’ve previously stated i too feel that Antonio should not get this or any other fight for that matter. but in my opinion pac man has not proven himself in the ring with a full-fledged welter weight and Margarito does have the sort of chin that is sure to test manny’s ability to”bring da noise”! If you consider the long law off and the “mass-whippin”he took from shane and not to mention the “shame”, it may be fitting to give the guy that last fighting he had in Mexico to clear the cob webs. Can’t wait til Nov. 13! @jadawson

this is a good fight, and fight night this time will be very exciting. hopefully floyd will be in the crowd and if manny wins, enter the ring
for some face to face action!, well be going “fcking crazy†at home!!!! Margarito is a tank though, he can take as much punishment and keep
moving forward more than just about anyone out there. manny should not move side to side too much, because trying to keep that shit up all
night tires the shit out of any fighter on any level. if he can outpoint and hurt him fighting on the inside every now and then, stay in there!
manny split decision in a an all out war…. theen the floyd drama after the fight…
