Vazquez Vs. Marquez III: Hard To Pick A Winner

February 26, 2008 By Ja Dawes

I am having a very difficult time picking the winner of the super bantamweight rubber match between Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez this Saturday. If you want to understand why, look no further than the video footage below.

Sometimes my gut feeling weighs heavily on my big fight predictions. I am trying to lose the girth around my waist, so I will stay away from my gut this time around. My mind tells me to go with Israel Vazquez. Why do I feel this way? I believe the punishment that Marquez took in the second fight (loss) was severe enough to linger into this fight, mentally and physically. Unfortunately, I do not have much more than that to go on, as both men have shown they can be hurt and defeated by one another(Marquez won the first time; Vazquez the second).

In a case of "mind over gut," I am going with Israel Vazquez by close, split decision victory over Rafael Marquez in the third installment of their epic series. Trust me…I think.
