Miguel "Junito" Cotto has seen better days. Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez has seen better days as well.
The key question is: which fighter is furthest removed from his peak powers?
Despite the fact that he's been knocked down three times in his last three fights and is six years older than his opponent, Martinez appears to be the more spry boxer.
Excluding his KO loss at the questionable hands of Antonio Margarito early in his career, he's only had one real war at the championship level (Paul Williams in their first fight).
These fresher legs will prove to be Martinez's greatest ally and Cotto's biggest threat.
Even in his prime, Cotto tended to struggle with fighters who were fleet of hand and especially foot. Most recently, the slick-boxing Austin Trout and Floyd Mayweather out-slicked the venerable Cotto.
Do I believe Cotto still has something up his sleeve? Yes, I do. But the sleeve will come up short on Saturday, June 7.
MY PREDICTION; SERGIO MARTINEZ SD12 MIGUEL COTTO
