In The Spirit Of The Oscars…And This Has Nothing To Do With De La Hoya

February 28, 2012 By Ja Dawes

In the spirit of the Academy Awards, I’d like to give a shout-out to a movie blogger that I enjoy as well as dust off one of my favorite posts from a few years ago.

It was nice to see the critically-acclaimed Moneyball get its just due with six nominations.

Moneyball’s recent success made me harken back to how surprisingly well boxing-themed movies had done at the Academy Awards.

In fact, On the Waterfront (1954), Rocky (1976) and Million Dollar Baby (2004) have each captured Oscars for Best Picture.

But for my money, the Raging Bull is the best boxing movie of all-time.

What is your favorite boxing-themed film?
