Back in 2008, I assumed that Junior Witter would defeat Timothy "The Desert Storm" Bradley. Then in 2009, I predicted that Bradley would lose to Kendall Holt. And since I’m of the stubborn lot, I wrote that Nate Campbell would emerge victorious in his bout with Bradley later that same year.
There is no way I should bet against the undefeated "Desert Storm" when he faces Devon Alexander "the Great" (21-0, 13 KOs) in two weeks, right? Well, that’s not exactly what I’m thinking.
To quote Wesley Snipes’ day-walking, vampire-slaying Blade in the first film of the trilogy, "some @#!%$!! are always trying to ice skate uphill." Yes, I’m going to stick to my stubborn ways in predicting another Bradley loss. And I do so with good reason.
In Alexander, Bradley will be facing the best boxer that he’s ever faced. And don’t let Alexander’s spotty victory over the tough Andriy Kotelnik in his most recent bout fool you. "The Great" was far from it against Kotelnik, but Bradley may as well throw out footage of that fight and prepare for this Alexander.
Simply put, I think Bradley is in for a long night as well as the first loss of his career. And there is no shame in losing to a man who has better footwork, hand speed, and punching power. I have learned to not take Timothy Bradley for granted yet I still haven’t learned how to stop predicting him to lose. I’m no quitter, so my stubbornness shall go on.
Devon Alexander will unify the junior welterweight crown via unanimous decision at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan in two weeks.

The Gods will smile on you this time rather than humiliate you with yet another bad prediction.
The Great will win a MD

@joenotaplumber Thanks for writing, being a prediction-hater, and for agreeing with me here. I’m honored. 🙂

I’m sorry, the tealeaves have reversed, it will be Bradley after all….
Try and fade Bradley next time…

Teddy Atlas picked Bradley.
Ja. You sound very confident in your prediction.
I like the Taller guy as well.

joenotaplumber, you need your own blog. you are the expert! 🙂 alexander’s last fight against kotelnik was no anomaly i guess…he may have been a bit overrated.

Jeff, Teddy knows what he’s talking about. I must say that Bradley is one helluva fighter. Dude, he’s beaten everyone that he’s been lined up against.
Jeff says
I was not impressed with either fighter. That was just a terrible fight. I was literally reading a book during the fight, and missed next to nothing.

@Jeff. Agreed. Boring fight, unssatisfying outcome. Bradley finds ways to win though. Alexander’s win against Urango was the best of him against a made-to-order opponent. That fight probably made him seem better than he is/was. I still think he’s a pretty good fighter but he may have been slightly overrated by me. I guess Bradley is the division’s best, with Khan second.
