… I’m no quitter. I assumed that Bradley would lose to Junior Witter last May. I was wrong. I also predicted that Kendall Holt would defeat Timothy Bradley (24-0, 11 KOs) in March. I was wrong. And I am predicting that Nate "The Galaxxy Warrior" Campbell (33-5-1, 25 KOs) will defeat him on August 1. Why stop now? Seriously, I think that the third time will be a charm. I have nothing against Bradley but I have a sneaking suspicion that the wily Campbell still has enough left in the tank to hand him his first professional defeat.
Here’s the breakdown.
- Power. Advantage Campbell. Don’t let Bradley’s body-builder frame fool you, Campbell is the one carrying the heavy artillery in this fight.
- Footwork. Advantage Bradley. Simply put, Bradley has the younger, fresher legs.
- Size. Advantage Bradley. I give Bradley the nod here just because he’s been fighting at 140 pounds longer. However, Campbell was struggling to make lightweight, so his move-up in weight is probably no huge disadvantage.
- Locale. Advantage Bradley. By default, fighting in his backyard should favor Bradley, especially if the fight goes the distance.
- Conditioning. Advantage Bradley. Bradley is one of the more well-conditioned titlists in the world. There’s no denying that.
- Hand Speed. Even. Both men have pretty decent hand speed. It’s hard for me to put my finger on who has the advantage here.
- Ring Generalship. Advantage Campbell. Campbell can slug. Campbell can box. Bradley can box. Bradley better not slug with Campbell.
- Competition. Advantage Campbell. Any man who has taken Joel Casamayor into deep water and beaten the crap out of Juan Diaz is the goods. Campbell is that man.
- Chin. Even. Campbell has been stopped twice by Robbie Peden. The first one was for the archives. Bradley has never been stopped but he did appear a bit chinny against Kendall Holt earlier this year. Let’s call it a push.
If you look at my breakdown, you can tell that I think this is going to be a very close fight. I predict that it will go the distance but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Campbell stop Bradley late. My pick: Nate Campbell wins by hard-fought, unanimous decision, backed by a knockdown or two.
Rest in peace Vernon Forrest.

I see this fight being an easy unanimous decision for Bradley. This is his coming out party and he will knock Campbell down. He has superior speed and he will land combination’s at will. I don’t see how you can keep picking against him. Bradley is the bigger man.

I’e managed to scrounge up some funds again after losing everything lately by mugging grandma’s at the local park at nights.
I have something on Campbell.

Good luck, what were the final odds on the fight “JoeNAP?”
Ja Dawson says
Eli, what has ever been easy for anyone involved in fighting the Galaxxy Warrior?
Eli says
He was too old and it showed. He was not in anyway going to mount a comeback. He is shot. His power is still descent but not against top level opposition like tim. If Campbell would have kept fighting he would have lost a lopsided decision. So it was a good choice for him to call it off.

I definitely under-estimated Bradley’s (Eli) handspeed in comparison to Campbell. And I agree, this may be the end of his run at the top. We’ll see. But props to Bradley, the third time picking against him was not a charm for me. I will not pick against him in any fight in the near future unless it’s against Marquez, Mayweather, Pacquiao, or some fighter of that really upper ilk.
